France has a grand total of twenty eight kilometres of cycling routes for those that love to get on their bikes and see the road. It is one of the best locations for cycling in the world. There are paths set out especially for cyclists that go through towns, and country side. If you are a beginner, an expert or simply just a fan of burning a few calories on your bicycle, you will be able to do all of this in France. The Loire Valle
This is one of the most popular destinations for cyclists in the country. It can take you anything from four to six days to be able to get through the route on a bike. It has sixty miles for you to get around, and the Loire Valley goes all the way around the Chateaux region. There are so many wonderful sites to see as you cycle through the region that you will be taken aback by the sheer beauty and panoramic splendour of the Loire Valley. It is also jam packed full of ancient history. You will see castles, a river, and there are also heaps of fantastic camp sites along the way to rest and rejuvenate yourself in preparation for another day’s cycling.
Vendee
This is a fantastic region to visit for cyclers in France. It is very well-organized and there is a seven hundred and sixty five kilometre cycle track that has been put there especially for cyclists to be able to enjoy. It is very well sign posted and there are heaps of picnic areas to stop off at for snacks along the way. The views in Vendee are fantastic and second to none. The whole area is very close by to the twenty three cycle routes that are specially laid out through Vendee.
The top routes there are Sentiers of the Haute Bocage; this is a track that is a whopping two hundred and eighty kilometres long. You will go through rural areas and also cycle on an unused railway. It is a lovely route to take on your bike.
The second route, The Coastal Sentiers, This is a track that takes you through a total of two hundred and eighty five kilometres of coastal area.
Last but not least on the top three places in Vendee is The Sentiers of the Marais Poitevin, a total of two hundred kilometres of track to cycle on. That’s not forgetting to mention the other 20 cycling paths in Vendee. So you will be spoiled for choice.
Les Grandes Alps
This is certainly not for the cycling novice. It is a fantastic route to cycle along. It is where the Tour De France takes place too. You will be able to cycle through the mountains and stop to rest and snap up pictures of the surrounding scenery.
