The United Kingdom is known all over the world for its music scene. Each year there are many music festivals that are planned across the whole of Great Britain. Probably most famous is the legendary Glastonbury Festival but in this post we want to draw your attention to some of the rest of the best festivals in the UK.
The Isle of Wight Festival
This is an annual music festival, in the stunning setting of the Isle of Wight. It was first launched in 1968. Ever since its inception it has seen great performances by the giants in the music industry like Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Dylan. The festival was popularized in the 1970s with over half a million attendees. This cemented it as one of the greatest music festivals drawing the biggest crowds. The festival is usually booked online and can sell out so it’s a good idea to book well in advance.
The Wireless music festival
Slightly more low-key but by no means any less entertaining. This music festival takes place annually in London’s Hyde Park. The event is managed and owned by the Live Nation Company. It was first launched in 2005 and has seen huge names from the music industry perform including David Guetta, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas and many more. For four nights nights, revelers get to camp and enjoy the festival atmosphere in the heart of the city.
The Swn music festival
The Swn music festival is held at the Cardiff in Wales usually in the month of October. The festival is carried out to promote the new music that is on release and is currently in its 6th year. Attendees get to enjoy three days non-stop music, with revellers able to enjoy the best in new music. This is the festival that also allows new musicians and bands to showcase their talents and if good enough establish a name for themselves.
London Feis music festival
One of the lesser know festivals, Feis music festival takes place at Finsbury Park in the city of London every June. The festival lasts for two days with great performances each year. With over 21 years of great performances, the Feis festival is aimed at celebrating the top international and Irish music in the tradition of being “Irish in flavour, international in reach.”
